What’s a Moofus?
I was almost sure I invented the word when I had this in game pet that looked like a really derpy cow. Combining moo and dufus into one word seemed an appropriate name. Later I found out that urban dictionary defines it as another word for geek which is also appropriate.
How long have you been drawing?
Since I came out of the womb, doctors said my mom had drawings of stick figures on the inside of her uterus.
What is your inspiration for the comics?
A blend between reading the news and just simple things I’ve experienced or thought of. I like finding really weird facts and sharing them with people to see their reactions, so hopefully you’ll learn a lot of useless shit while you’re here.
Why are your comics slightly upgraded stick figures while the paintings show much more of what you can do?
There is this awesome book from Scott Mccloud about Understanding Comics. It really breaks down the anatomy of why we respond differently to all types of art. I felt after reading it since my humor was more about the substance, that just some simple figures to move the news along would work well.
Why not do gaming comics if you’ve worked on games?
Eh, with amount of gaming comics out there, I think my chances of even getting a comic off that didn’t look plagiarized would be pretty slim. I can’t speak for all 3D artists, but when you’ve worked on the stuff for a living, the last thing you want to do is talk about more games.
What is your inspiration for the paintings?
Ever since I was a kid I loved crossover comics or just taking two unlikely people and teaming them up. Part of me would really like to take these far and make a movie poster that would be very Drew Struzan influenced.
What programs do you use to make the comics/paintings?
I started off with Photoshop for the comics, but then quickly migrated to Illustrator to finally give that program a shot and see what people like about it. For the paintings, Photoshop.
What sort of schedule do you have with the comics?
Right now my time is a bit up for grabs, you should at least expect two comics a week for now within a work week.
What sort of schedule do you have with the paintings?
Due to freelance work picking up since this site launched, I had to scale back on the paintings. You should at least expect to see one a month from now on I can’t promise anymore than that for now.
Do you work full time?
Yes, I have been a 3D modeler for several years now working on various freelance game projects and am currently doing some work with simulation for training purposes. You can see more of my work here…

What other programs do you use?
Maya, Zbrush, Unreal editor, Crytek engine, and plenty more.
What else do you plan on doing with this site?
Been looking into doing videos or speed lapses of the paintings in the future. I would like to have some mini tutorials that could help teach or break down how to draw specific things that lead up to more complex objects later on from requests. Until I know what sort of time I can set aside for this, it won’t be anytime soon.
Do you take donations?
Nah, I would rather you donate to a charity or a cause of your choice if you’re in the spirit of giving which is pretty damn awesome of you. I feel really weird about taking peoples money for nothing. If I do open a shop in the future, feel free to buy a shirt or something =).
Would you work on this site full time if you could?
That really depends, I do like my work a lot. You can bet your ass though if I get laid off that I will be sinking more time into this site and see how far I can take it.
